What is Glomiq?

Glomiq is an AI-powered document template automation platform for lawyers, chartered accountants, HR professionals, consultants, and company secretaries. It converts any existing Word or PDF document into a reusable smart template — so every time you need that document, you fill a short form and download a perfectly formatted output instead of editing manually.

The core workflow is: upload once, detect variables automatically, fill a form, download the output. Glomiq preserves your original document's formatting, layout, fonts, and structure in every generated output. Your uploaded documents and client data are never used to train AI models.

Getting started

You can be generating your first document in under 5 minutes. Here is the full process:

  1. Create an account — Sign up at glomiq.com/signup using Google or email. Email verification may be required.
  2. Upload your document — Go to Create → Upload Document and drop in a Word (.docx) or PDF file. Use a document that already has all the variable fields your output will need — for example, a client name, date, agreement amount, or party address.
  3. Review detected fields — Glomiq's AI scans your document and suggests all variable fields it finds. Review the list, rename fields for clarity, and mark any that are not variables as static text. The accuracy is high, but always validate before using outputs for client-facing or legal purposes.
  4. Save your template — Once fields are confirmed, save the template. It is now permanently reusable — no need to re-upload the original document.
  5. Generate a document — Open the template, fill in the form fields with the new values (client name, date, amount, etc.), and click Generate. Download the output as a Word or PDF file.
  6. Check version history — Every generated document is saved in your history. You can re-download, review inputs, or regenerate at any time.

Supported file types and limits

FormatUploadExport
Word (.docx)✅ Supported✅ .docx and .pdf
PDF (.pdf)✅ Supported✅ .pdf
Word 97–2003 (.doc)⚠️ Convert to .docx first
Google Docs⚠️ Export as .docx first
Excel / Sheets❌ Not supported

Page limits by plan: Free plan — up to 10 pages per document. Starter plan — up to 25 pages. Pro plan — up to 60 pages. Documents exceeding your plan's page limit will be rejected at upload. Contact support if you regularly work with longer documents.

File size: Maximum 20 MB per upload across all plans.

Formatting notes: Glomiq preserves tables, headers, footers, fonts, numbering, and paragraph styles in Word outputs. Complex embedded objects (charts, legacy form fields, macros) may not be preserved in all cases. PDF exports reflect the Word layout and may vary slightly by renderer.

How variable detection works

When you upload a document, Glomiq's AI reads the full text and identifies fields that are likely to change between document instances. It looks for patterns such as:

  • Proper nouns in key positions (client names, party names, company names)
  • Dates in any format (01/04/2026, April 1 2026, 1st April 2026)
  • Monetary amounts and numeric values (₹50,000, $1,500/month, 30 days)
  • Addresses and contact details
  • Role or designation references (Director, Employee, Advocate)
  • Case-specific clauses or bracketed placeholders you have already marked

Detected fields are shown as a list before the template is saved. You can rename each field to a clear label (e.g. “Client Full Name”, “Effective Date”, “Monthly Retainer Amount”), mark fields as optional or required, and set default values for fields that are frequently the same.

Tip for better detection: Documents that already use consistent placeholder conventions — such as [CLIENT_NAME], {{DATE}}, or ________ — will have the highest detection accuracy. If your document uses natural prose without markers, Glomiq still detects most variables but manual review is recommended.

Template field types

Each detected variable becomes a typed field in the generation form. Supported field types:

  • Text — Single-line text. Used for names, roles, addresses.
  • Long text — Multi-line text. Used for descriptions, clauses, scope sections.
  • Date — Date picker. Output formatted as specified in the template.
  • Number — Numeric input. Supports currency formatting where indicated in the template.
  • Email — Validated email address field.
  • Select / Dropdown — Predefined list of options. Useful for recurring standard clauses, party types, or status values.

Field types are auto-detected based on context and can be changed manually in the template editor.

Version control and document history

Every document generated through Glomiq is automatically saved with:

  • The exact field values used to generate it
  • The timestamp of generation
  • The template version it was based on
  • A download link to re-export at any time

This creates a full audit trail for every document your team generates — useful for legal compliance, client record-keeping, and internal review. If you update a template (e.g. to revise a clause), existing history entries remain linked to the version that was active when they were generated.

You can access all generated documents from Dashboard → History. Search by template name, date range, or field values.

Credits and plan limits

Glomiq uses a credit system. Credits are consumed when you upload and process a document (template creation) or generate an output document. Viewing, editing field names, and downloading previously generated documents do not consume credits.

PlanMonthly creditsPage limit / upload
Free5010 pages
Starter30025 pages
Pro1,00060 pages

Credits reset on your monthly billing date. Unused credits do not roll over. Additional credit packs are available on Starter and Pro plans — manage your subscription in Settings → Billing after signing in. See Pricing for current plan rates.

AI and your data

Glomiq uses AI to analyse uploaded documents, detect variable fields, and structure templates. Important limits to understand:

  • AI outputs can be imperfect. Variable detection achieves high accuracy but is not guaranteed to be 100% correct. Always review detected fields before saving a template, and review generated documents before sending to clients or submitting to any authority.
  • Do not rely solely on Glomiq for legal or compliance decisions. Glomiq automates formatting and variable substitution — it does not provide legal advice, validate legal clauses, or check regulatory compliance.
  • Your data is never used to train AI models. Uploaded documents and the data you enter into generation forms are processed to produce your output and are not used to improve or train any AI system.
  • Third-party AI providers. Glomiq uses third-party AI infrastructure to process document content. Data is transmitted securely (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest). See the Privacy Policy for details on sub-processors.

Security

Glomiq is built with security practices appropriate for professional document workflows handling client data:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher
  • Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
  • Authentication supports Google OAuth and email/password with email verification
  • Access to your templates and documents is restricted to your account
  • App routes (dashboard, templates, documents) are blocked from search engine indexing
  • No client document data is shared with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes

For full security details, see the Security page.

Frequently asked questions

What file formats does Glomiq accept?

Glomiq accepts Word (.docx) and PDF (.pdf) files. Legacy .doc files should be converted to .docx before uploading. Google Docs users can export to .docx from File → Download.

Does Glomiq work with Indian legal and compliance documents?

Yes. Glomiq is designed with Indian professionals in mind and works well with engagement letters, GST filings, ITR documents, board resolutions, NDAs, employment contracts, and other documents commonly used by Indian CAs, lawyers, and company secretaries.

Is my client data safe on Glomiq?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Your documents are never used to train AI models, and client data is not shared with third parties for advertising or analytics. Each account's data is isolated and accessible only to that account.

Can I edit the generated document after downloading?

Yes. Word (.docx) outputs can be opened and edited in Microsoft Word or Google Docs like any normal document. PDF outputs can be annotated with standard PDF tools. Glomiq does not lock your output files.

What happens if Glomiq misses a variable in my document?

After AI detection, you can manually review the field list and add or remove variables before saving the template. If you discover a missed field after saving, you can edit the template to add it — existing generated documents are not affected.

Does Glomiq support conditional fields (e.g. different clauses for different contract types)?

Basic conditional logic and optional fields are supported. For complex branching (e.g. entirely different clause sets based on a selection), we recommend maintaining separate templates for each variant. Conditional field support is being expanded — check the product roadmap for updates.

Can multiple team members use the same templates?

Team sharing features are on the product roadmap. Currently, templates and history are per-account. Contact support if you need team access for your organisation.

What counts as a credit?

One credit is consumed when you process a document upload (create a template) or generate a new output document. Viewing templates, editing field names, re-downloading past outputs, and account management do not consume credits.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from Settings → Billing. You retain access to your plan until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

Does Glomiq integrate with other software (Zoho, Tally, HRMS)?

Direct integrations with third-party software are on the roadmap. Currently, you can export generated documents as .docx or .pdf and import them into any system that accepts those formats. Contact support to discuss integration requirements for your organisation.
